Does Las Vegas have room for any more lights? It does on Christmas, apparently, and as far as interesting Christmas destinations go, Las Vegas has plenty going for it. Vegas makes for a good Christmas vacation because the casinos turn the lights and festivities up to 11, like the Griswolds but ostensibly with more taste. Probably one of the best cases is the Bellagio, whose famous fountains dance to a Christmas score. Caesar’s is known for its huge tree, too. If you plan on taking a Vegas sightseeing tour during the holidays, be sure to do it at night.

If you’re spending the Thanksgiving Holiday in Las Vegas, chances are you’re going to want to celebrate the holiday with a nice, opulent thanksgiving dinner and a place to watch whatever football game you placed a poorly planned bet on.

There is so much to do in Las Vegas, all in very close proximity to your hotel! Here are some of the best things to do in this vibrant town and that isn’t gambling.

There’s more to Las Vegas than meets the eye! Just south of the Las Vegas Strip is Town Square an outdoor mall which resembles the likings of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Town Square features name brand stores, authentic restaurants, a one-of-a-kind movie theater and a vibrant nightlife scene. Escape the hustle and bustle of the busy Las Vegas Strip and visit Town Square!

My favorite sightseeing casinos are the Bellagio and the Luxor. If you’ve never been, the former is where those dancing fountains at the end of Ocean’s Eleven are. As this is one of the top luxury hotels in the country, let alone Vegas, it’s pretty opulent, and you might even see some celebrities.

Here’s the Pink Jeep Torroweep Tour. From Las Vegas, you’ll get in these big 4×4 truck/shuttle bus hybrids and head to one of the most remote spots in the entire country, though I’m sure if you’re stuck in small town Alaska during the winter, you’d probably beg to differ. Anyway, you drive from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon in these big trucks, which is pretty neat drive (and if you disagree, they’re equipped with DVD players). Lunch is included, and the view of the canyon and the Colorado River is amazing.

With Las Vegas megaclubs like TAO, PURE, JET, Tryst and The Bank, you’re destined to find a nightclub that fits your party style.

If you’re a fan of hiking and the outdoors like me, or simply need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Las Vegas strip for the day, why not take a drive out to see some of Nevada’s natural beauty? For some fun variation, I recommend heading to these two vastly different locations.
